Les Cocottes was only opened in the June of 2007 and is the latest restaurant from the renowned Chef Christian Constant and his wife Catherine situated on the same street as their other restaurants, which has become an instant hit, both with the locals and tourists alike.

The long thin contemporary space was designed by Luis Alleluia and is basically like a hip French version of an American diner, which always has a buzz about it, from when it opens in the early morning right through to when it closes late in the evening.

The chic designer interior is not spacious, but is modern and uses a ceiling window that brings in a tremendous amount of natural light, making it a really comfortable space, where you sit on high bar stools at a very long counter to experience the surprising and affordable bistro style dishes.

Situated in the 7th Arrondissement near to the Eiffel Tower and just along from their other restaurants in Paris called the Cafe Constant and Le Violon d'Ingres this is a great place to get a quick bite to eat or enjoy one of their signature casseroles, whether you are with the family or dining alone.

Les Cocottes does not take any reservations, you just turn up for good quality fresh food when you want it, and items on the menu could include such things as pumpkin soup, Caesar salad, creamy scrambled eggs with truffles, omelettes with your choice of filling, chocolate tart with Chantilly cream, and much, much more.

However, the signature dishes are the casseroles cooked in a special cast iron and enamel oven to table casserole pot known as a Staub that is famous for retaining heat and flavour. Some of the hearty casseroles, known as cocottes, which is where the name of this restaurant came from, include stuffed pig's feet with potatoes, Carrelet Dugléré, which is plaice and fluffy rice, a shoulder of lamb confite with potatoes or a vegetarian alternative of seasonal baby vegetables, plus seasonal specialities that include wood pigeon with a purée of creamy potatoes.

You can even order salads, soups, verrines, cocottes, quiches and desserts to take away with you, plus Les Cocottes serves tapas in the evening and brunch at the weekends.

So why not go along to Cocottes where you can sip espressos or experience one of their reasonably priced wines, have a pasty and read the newspaper, munch on a sandwich, have a more substantial meal or purchase some provisions to take away with you.

It is a whole new concept in this expensive area of Paris that has become exceedingly popular both with the locals and tourists alike, for a casual dining experience with everyday food and good quality comfort cuisine, which you will absolutely love.
