Fauchon is basically an icon that has been situated on the stylish Place de la Madeleine since its inception back in the year 1886 and is an incredibly upscale delicatessen that provides shoppers with the ultimate in expensive and unusual foods.

No trip to the French capital would be complete without a visit to the legendary Fauchon in which to select a few gourmet delicacies you would like to take home with you and they even have a restaurant and tea room in which to enjoy some of the hand-make delights there and then.

The Fauchon shop provides delicacies from all over France and the world for that matter, and is divided into different sections with a section for items such as preserves and exotic canned goods, another for breads, pastries and chocolates and another for items such as cheese, pate and terrines.

Situated in the 8th Arrondissement of Paris behind the Madeleine church just a few minutes walk to the West from the Opera, they also have a restaurant and a tea salon where they are able to showcase the incredible talents of the pastry chefs, but as you have probably gathered by now, this is not a cheap place to pop in to.

However, with this restaurant in Paris only seating 30 people at a time in a very chic and plush setting, there are always people making reservations to experience the exquisite compositions of their finest pastries, along with other delights such as pates, sausages, cakes and even cooked meals.
