Les Bouquinistes is a restaurant owned by the renowned Michelin star chef Guy Savoy and is set in one of the most beautiful of Parisian quarters and is named after the famous book sellers that supply old, rare and antique books, plus it is in the area known for its fabulous art galleries.

This area is not a typical tourist trap and in fact is frequented more by the residents of Paris, art dealers and the local shop owners than it is by tourists, but lets face it, its the people who live and work in an area who know the best places to eat and go out for a meal out.

Even though this is not a haute cuisine restaurant in Paris like Guy Savoy, you will be pleased to know that Guy Savoy himself designed the menu along with Magdala de Beaulieu Caussimon who is the very capable chef that runs this place. And every day there are two extra starters, main courses and desserts that are specially selected for you to discover the flavours of the fresh produce available at that time.

Guy Savoy also owns other restaurants and bistros in Paris such as La Butte Chaillot and the Atelier Maitre Albert, which is a rotisserie.

Les Bouquinistes is situated in the 6th arrondissement of Paris and in a fantastic position that looks on the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Pont Neuf bridge and you can even listen to the barges such as the bateau mouches going up and down the River Seine.

The ambiance and atmosphere here is great but as for the cuisine, you will be able to discover delights such as lobster and Brittany crab prepared in a beetroot ravioli, marinated duckling fillet with spring vegetables, grilled red tuna with parsley and wasabi dressing, roasted rack of lamb with rosemary, creamy polenta and white asparagus and pan-fired foie gras with gingerbread and raspberry, just to name but a few dishes on offer. This as most restaurants in Paris does depend upon the seasons of course!

Wine is of course a past time and a love of the French, and here you will find many fine bottles of wine from numerous different wine regions in France for under 50€, but you can also expect to see some fine vintage wines on the list including some Burgundy wines and Bordeaux wines, for those of us who have a larger pocket.

Plus you can even expect to hear English spoken, in this often crowded place to eat out in Paris, where you may feel a little cramped with tables elbow to elbow, but this friendly restaurant will definitely provide a meal to remember with the service to compliment.
